AIR COMMODORE BABATUNDE A. ADEKOYA (RTD.) MNIM

NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Air Commodore Babatunde Adekoya (rtd) is currently the chairman and an alumni board trustee of Command Secondary School Lagos. His 35 years of meritorious and active service to the nation as a senior officer of the Nigerian Airforce commenced in 1983 when he was admitted into the Nigeria Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna State as a member of 33 regular course on 10 January 1983 with a flying career that took off at the 301 flying training school Kaduna on the bulldog primary trainer aircraft in 1986.

He attended the basic flying course at 303 flying training school in Kano between 1988 and 1989, and subsequently at the flying training school Kaduna as a squadron pilot on the DO-128-6 AND DO-228 aircraft and later an instructor pilot on the Air Beetle primary trainer aircraft. He holds a commercial pilot license(CPL) with instrument rating and has flown over 2000 operational and instructional flying hours on different aircrafts types for the Nigerian Air Force.

He took both his junior and senior staff courses at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College 1998 – 2002 and went on to assume senior roles at the college till 2006. He was the commanding officer of reconnaissance wing Kaduna 2002 – 2003, and served as a military observer with the United Nations Mission in Ethiopia and Eritrea (UNMEE) from March 2003 to Jul 2004.

He graduated from the National Defence College as a member of course 19 in 2012 with several appointments at staff and instructional levels at the Command following suit. He served as a member of the War College management team and was appointed the command training officer, headquarters training command Kaduna from September 2011 to October 2012. He was the director of training at the Nigerian Air Force headquarters October 2012 – 2015 and served as a member of the governing council of Armed Forces Institute of Technology Kaduna 2001 – 2015. While he retired from active service in 2017, Air Cadre.

BA Adekoya is today a recipient of the silver jubilee medal, forces services star, meritorious service star, distinguished service star, general service star, the united nations medal and force commander commendation certificate for excellence in peace keeping duties in United Nations mission in Ethiopia and Eritrea. He is also a distinguished fellow of the National Defence College Pretoria and the National Defence College Nigeria, respectively.

He holds a master of science degree in strategic studies from the University of Ibadan, and is a member of National Institute of Management.
