Ignatius Ameh is a seasoned Corporate Affairs, Communications, Sustainability, and Business Development Leader with over 15 years of experience driving stakeholder engagement, government relations, regulatory alignment, corporate communications, and ESG strategy across the Oil & Gas, Energy, Power, Infrastructure, Telecommunications, and international development sectors, including projects funded by the United Nations, European Union (EU), USAID, UK FCDO, Global Affairs Canada, ECOWAS, GIZ, Global Fund, and the World Bank.
As Group Head, Corporate Communications, Sustainability & ESG at Phase3 Telecom, he leads enterprise-wide communications, reputation management, executive communications, media relations, sustainability and ESG strategy, and stakeholder engagement initiatives that support business growth, regulatory alignment, responsible business practices, and market expansion across Nigeria’s digital infrastructure ecosystem.
Ignatius has built a distinguished career at the intersection of corporate affairs, public affairs, strategic communications, sustainability, and business-to-government (B2G) engagement, working extensively with government institutions, regulators, development partners, host communities, and industry stakeholders. His experience spans high-level engagements with institutions including NNPC Limited, Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, Nigerian Communications Commission, the National Assembly, the World Bank, the United Nations, USAID, UK FCDO, ECOWAS-EU, and Global Fund-supported programmes.
He possesses deep expertise in corporate affairs and reputation management, crisis communication, ESG and sustainability leadership, Nigerian Content engagement, policy advocacy, executive positioning, and strategic stakeholder management within highly regulated and complex operating environments. Over the course of his career, he has successfully delivered measurable impact, including over 40% growth in brand visibility, significant improvements in stakeholder perception, and a 50% reduction in crisis escalation timelines through proactive communications and risk management frameworks.
Prior to joining Phase3 Telecom, Ignatius played key roles across major energy, infrastructure, and development initiatives, including participation in the Nigerian Power Sector Privatization Programme led by the Presidency through the National Council on Privatisation and Bureau of Public Enterprises. He was a key member of the business operations and stakeholder engagement team that spearheaded the successful acquisition of the Sapele Power Generation Company in a landmark USD 201 million transaction.
He also contributed to the OML 119 Okono and Okpoho marginal field development in strategic partnership with NPDC, supporting stakeholder engagement, regulatory interface, and project communications within Nigeria’s upstream oil and gas sector.
His experience further includes bid structuring and management, strategic communications for high-value infrastructure projects, public-private partnership engagements, transmission infrastructure bids, investor-facing communications, and cross-functional coordination for large-scale capital and energy projects exceeding multi-billion-naira values.
