Stilo Ogbonda is an experienced lawyer with over fifteen years post-call practice, specializing in the Telecom/ICT industry. He holds a Master’s Degree in Law and Public Administration, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Law. Stilo’s expertise encompasses various legal areas, making him a versatile legal expert. 

His knowledge and proficiency as a legal/regulatory professional in Nigeria’s telecom industry are extensive. He continues to play a pivotal role in shaping and developing the industry through policy development, strategy implementation, and regulatory enforcement. Notable achievements include resolving a protracted dispute and litigation between Phase 3 and a partner government entity, resulting in substantial cost savings and an extended concession duration.

Ogbonda has facilitated crucial partnerships on behalf of Phase 3 with renowned companies such as WIOCC, Microsoft, and Liquid Telecom—driving the provision of exceptional broadband services in Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa. 

In addition to his legal expertise, Stilo possesses strong negotiation skills, strategic thinking capabilities, and exceptional interpersonal skills. These qualities have been instrumental in stakeholder management, team building, compliance monitoring, and enforcement. Stilo excels in authoring strategic documents, conducting thorough analysis and research, and demonstrating expertise in arbitration, mediation, and conciliation. 

He currently serves as the company Secretary & head of legal and regulatory services Phase 3 Group. Stilo is also responsible for coordinating board affairs, overseeing the legal department’s functions, ensuring regulatory compliance, and advising the board and management on legal matters. He actively identifies and mitigates legal risks, manages litigation, and develops the company’s corporate legal strategy.  

His educational qualifications include enrolment in a Doctoral Researcher Program at the University of Abuja, Master of Public Administration degree from the National Open University of Nigeria, a Master of Law degree from the University of Abuja, and a Bachelor of Law degree from Rivers State University.

He is a qualified Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, holding memberships with several professional bodies, including the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Association of Professional Negotiators and Mediators (APNM), International Bar Association (IBA), Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI), and Chartered Institute of Management Consultants (CIMC).

Ogbonda is a Notary Public appointed by the Chief Justice of Nigeria. With a diverse skill set, including proficiency in alternative dispute resolution, advocacy, counseling, and compliance monitoring, along with strong communication and IT skills.
